    I have just been building my first 300BLK SBR and prepping to load, first 300BLK loading. I came across Maker REX bullets and Sub-X and been trying to decide between them for starting place. Thanks so much for the great coverage here helping me decide to go with Maker! Also, as an ELD-X and ELD-M shooter those penetrating right thru were a shock at those velocities. Guess I have assumed better performance of those opening somewhat like other OTM bullets and the velocity just wont do it. Very good to lnow as I was thinking about ELD or GMX instead of Maker also.

    so i mean, is 224 valk a waste of time if i already have a 20" 5.56 in 1:7 twist. i feel like it it just is an equivalent of a 5.56 load why bother?

    Johnny have you ever done any testing with the Barnes TTSX BT 150gr 308 with lapua brass in the AR platform?

    check the headspace perhaps? different ammo and after you use it I bet it will work fine and the accuracy will be there. Just guessing.

    Late to the game here but if you turn on the saw and put bees wax on the death wheel it'll stop the brass from loading up the disc.

    I don’t know much about reloading, but that’s why I’m here , just trying to learn more before I honor amd buy a bunch of stuff that I don’t know anything about. You just shared some great knowledge, and a learning experience about the flash hole ( something to be aware of as I don’t want to make those costly mistakes) Great content ! I enjoy your videos and I look forward to seeing more . Subscribed !

    Had to order a taller pan. Some powders would fly out of the pan even with the restriction piece installed. Also some ball powders work into the o rings. And it would lock up the aluminum dispenser tube. Did some research. Just add a small amount of oil on the o rings. I bought it based on its footprint. But I absolutely love this thing now. Had it for over five years.

    Watching you shoot groups got me into reloading. Watching you shoot 5 shot groups and you get 3 shots into .5”, then the 5th shoots an inch high and it’s deflating. It’s like scratching a lotto ticket. I don’t know how to describe it. Thank you for introducing me to this amazing hobby. I’ve been doing it for 6 years now and am very sad to see you stop making videos. But I hope whatever you are doing makes you happy.

    I find with all copper bullets' I need to clean the barrel really well then they shot great but if I shout 1 lead based bullet the groups will got to shit unless I clean really well again.

    Barrel makers now offer 300blk in a 1:5 twist. It offers MUCH more stability in the 175+ projectile weights. I saw a significant accuracy increase when I switched

    I like that you shot the 200gr Maker Rex ammo out of the 10.5” 300 Blackout Pistol/SBR and not just the 16” rifle, and letting that be the “speak-all”for the 300 blackout AR style platform. I like the way Maker Rex bullets expanded. What would have been the difference in penetration if you have used the FBI Gel instead? Liked the video, will be searching through your content for more. Thank you.

    I have 2 A.R. Stoner barrels. They started out shooting poorly. I hand lapped both barrels with Brasso between cleaning with Hoppes #9. I have one shooting very well and the 2nd one is coming along nicely.

    I know this is an old video, I've been lurking this channel for a while, catching up. Anyway, recently I've watched another video about harmonic resonance and rifle barrel tuning. Being behind the curve, this could be in another video in this series I have yet to watch. So evidently, by utilizing a phone app called Spectroid and tapping on the barrel while moving the position of a barrel weight, it was explained as being possible to tune the barrel without ever taking a single shot. I have yet to try this, the Limb Saver utilized in this video I have on the way for entertainment purposes if nothing else. I've also looked into motor collars briefly, which sprang a few "Bubba" flavored aspirations, but IMHO anything hanging on a rifle barrel looks kind of goofy. 50 of my "pet" loads ready to go and previously shot targets that I keep as records for validation should this actually work. Color me interested. Edit: I looked up the video. ruclips.net/video/FlKGkt8m9W8/видео.html

    This round is supposed to have been made for the 14.5 barrel of an M4 rifle, but does not seem to be accurate with the 16inch 1/7. The bullet height is 12 thousandths longer than a Nossler 77gr

  • @jimjones9239
    @jimjones9239 7 дней назад

    I obtained a 200 bullet sample and measured the weight there is a variation of 0.2 grains, even cheaper Bob's bullets have a 0.01 variation, you also mentioned the height variation, so height of the insert plus weigh of the bullet variation would explain the wide groups you are getting and speed variations as well. I have seen the gel tests, this round is about the same as the original M855. I wonder if the benefit is on the penetration through hard objects.

    Johnny, I Zeroed a Bergara B-14 24" barrel for my partner with Hornady 22-250 V-Max 50 gr at 100yds. I can't believe how well it sends those. like almost one hole group, so took it to 300 yds. with .1 mil up, shot a .38 " group,, it's FPS avg. is 3975, you have any clue what powder they are using? Most what I see except for the H 380 you loaded is around 3500-3600 FPS, all of the shots were out of the box. He took it P dog hunting in ND 3 weeks ago and was busting them at 550yds. Enjoyed your video so much, keep them coming . 👍👍👍👍

    The oxidation from the annealing process is Cupric Oxide (CuO2) and at a molecular level it is tenacious, readily transfers to other metal substrates, and shows extremely poor lubricity. Tumbling in a medium which will scrub the CuO2 from the neck of the cases will be beneficial to your reloading equipment and to the repeatability of your case sizing.

    Good old video, yet I have a question. Would you know if your grandfathers loads used the 150 grain boat-tailed spire point interlocks? My flat based Interlocks seem to be losing it at 200 yards from my picky .308 Tikka. Sierra #2145s and #2140s have been my best performers to date, and this is a T3 Lite so you may be able to imagine the efforts over the years.
